According to Dallas News Texas led the nation in lightning strikes last year, with 47,397,975 lightning strikes recorded, according to a new report by Vaisala. That’s more than three times the second state on the list Oklahoma, which recorded 14,772,145 lightning strikes in 2019.

Lightning Strikes Spark House Fires Across North Texas
MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – Investigators believe lightning is likely to blame for a fire that heavily damaged a new home in McKinney early Sunday.
Firefighters were called to the house in the 1000 block of Fallon Drive just after 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found flames and smoke shooting from the roof.
